A moment ago, I uploaded a video on Instagram where I knit double knitting with one color. I recieved a lot of questions about how I did it, so I will try to explain how it works in this blog post, a video of the technique is posted at the en of this post.
Cast on an even number of stitche on a DPN
* Knit 1, slip 1 purl wise with the yarn in front* Repeat *-* throughout the needle.
On the next row, repeat *-*.
Repeat *-* as many times as needed.
This will create a closed tube. If you want to knit an open tube, it requires a bit more work with the cast on.
Where to apply this technique? Headbands, heel flap for socks, fingers on gloves, and many more!
