About the recipe:

The name columbine comes from the flower columbine that we find in our beautiful nature. The ruffle on this dress reminded me of the flower, and that's how this recipe got its name. The shape itself is inspired by a dress I found in the attic of my mother-in-law, a short home-made children's dress. Akeleie is a single-color children's dress, which allows the knitter to play with the color choice. It is knitted from the waist down as a skirt first, before putting stitches in the waist and finishing the upper part. It has ruffles along the straps that start at the waist at the front and continue all the way to the back. The ruffle also increases in thickness the further up on the front piece it comes with the help of turns. The straps are also knitted as a combined button bar, and fastened over each other in a split on the back.
